When this site talks about exercise for health and wellness, it is talking about working out at home. Why? Because you do not have to join a gym to get healthy these days. Certainly not with the sheer number of different exercise equipment that is available for us to buy.

So, in other words, there is no excuse for not maintaining a good standard of living.

Firstly, you will need to choose the best way to exercise. We cannot stress how important this is. That is because the different apparatus has different benefits for your body. So, if you’ve something in particular that you wish to improve upon, then you need to buy the right equipment.

Typically, there are four kinds of exercise equipment that you can safely use.** These are as follows –

Rowing Machine

Exercise Bike


All four of these have their advantages as an exercise for health and wellness. Although, as I am saying, they differ slightly in what they offer you in terms of fitness improvements.

What Does Exercise Do?

Regular exercise has some other benefits other than improving your lifespan (The length of your life.) Whether you wish only to be healthy, or, lose some weight, it is the way to reach both goals. A goal is a positive thing to have, as well.

It will give you your starting point, (Where you are at now) and above all else, that target which you wish to meet. Our only advice to you is never to lose sight of it.

However, you must first be realistic when you are setting it. There is no point in setting an unattainable goal that you will struggle to reach. You will become disheartened, and the possibility of quitting will arise.

There are two types of exercise, and these are as follows –

Aerobic Exercise

That is, basically, your breathing. Things such as Zumba and any form of running. Be it on a treadmill or an outdoor jog/Run. Rowing machines, ellipticals and also exercise bikes can provide you with an excellent aerobic exercise. As well as being fit doing this, it is common amongst people who are on a weight loss journey.

Some people will refer to it as cardio workouts.

Anaerobic exercise is the opposite of aerobic exercise. It focuses on your ability to produce strength and speed from minimal breathing. A perfect example of anaerobic exercise is to watch an athletics event on TV. Ignore all the distance runners, for that, is pure cardio (Aerobic exercising.)

Instead, focus on the 100 meters. Watch how, generally, the guys do not breathe during their race. These are super healthy people. Yes, they are. It is because they have trained themselves to produce a short burst of activity.

Their bodies blood will carry enough oxygen in it to allow them to still perform to the max. And, above all, without the need to breathe.

However, there is a saying, and that is, “You can’t out train a bad diet.” So, you will never be any of the two that I mention if, firstly,  you do not fix this. Because there is no point in doing good exercise, only then to go and ruin it by eating poorly.

    Many people exercise hard and then after training eat fast food trash food and get all that back.
    With a proper diet, you can so easily maintain your weight and physically be in great shape.

    1. Yes, it is exactly true my friend. Never were more accurate words spoken. I agree it is, however, unfortunate that a lot of people forget about the diet part and concentrate solely on exercise. Diet is the foundation where exercise should come from. Thanks for the comment Leo.

Over many years I follow what people say about Exercise, one call it fat burning, the other building short power (that’s what we did for professional team sports like football) and then there it comes to the Exercise which is the actual thing, your health. Seems like now it is all on one spot. Is there actually a thing to combine them, like focus one week on this, one week on that? Does this even make sense? What would be a useful cycle, weekly, monthly, b-weekly?

    1. Well, firstly, thanks to you for taking the time to comment. Secondly, it doesn’t have to be weekly, bi-weekly, etc. They can and ideally should be done side by side. In other words, together. Otherwise, you will only be correcting one half at a time and will receive better results when you combine them.
